Dear Parents/Carers,

Maths
Next week we shall be covering the following areas in maths;
Creating number fact families using our knowledge addition/subtraction and also multiplication/division i.e. if I know that 12 + 8 = 20 then I also know 8+12=20, 20-12=8 and 20-8=12.
Understanding that the equals sign means ‘the same as’ and using this to help solve problems such as 20 – 8 = 7 +5
Finding the unknown number in a number calculation e.g. 20 = ? + 12

How to show the inverse of division and multiplication e.g. 18 ➗ 6 = 3 so 6 x 3 = 18.

School trip
Thank you very much to those who have already offered to help on our visit to the Guille-Alles Library on 20th and 21st March. We are still looking for more helpers so please let us know if someone in your family would be willing to help.
Mrs Ash’s and Mrs Ashworth’s class will be going at 9am on Monday 20th March and returning at 10.45am.
Miss Geall’s class will be going at 9am on Tuesday 21st March and returning at 10.45am.

Red Nose Day
If your child would like to enter the talent show competition which will be taking place on Red Nose Day, they need to prepare their talent (this can be anything from singing to dancing to gymnastics!) to their class on Wednesday 15th March. The winning child from each class will then perform to the whole school on Friday 24th March during assembly time.
